The immune system protects and defends the body against infectious diseases, bacteria, viruses, and harmful organisms.

Cells in the immune system are produced by the thymus gland which is located behind the top of the breastbone; the spleen which is located on the left side of the upper abdomen; and other organs. The spleen filters the blood. Cells in the immune system are carried through the body via the lymph vessels to the lymph nodes, which enables them to be stored and become effective against infectious diseases. Cells can be protected with vitamins C and E (antioxidants), and vitamin A.

Avoid foods high in fat, and refined processed foods, sugar, and animal products. Develop good sleep habits. Regular exercise and deep breathing help build cardiovascular and a healthy immune system.

[edit] Immune Deficiency

Immune deficiency causes fatigue, repeaded colds, aging, allergic reactions, chronic diarrhea, and illnesses that lead to infection in the entire body. Avoid stress, caffeine, alcohol, and drugs (unless prescribed).

Consult a physician for an Annual Physical Examination, and a good Cleansing Program that will rid the body of toxins.
