The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) provides safe, affordable, and decent housing to low and moderate income residents throughout the five boroughs. In addition to providing housing, NYCHA also works to develop a sense of community within its apartments and actively works towards improving the life of its residents.
Senior Services
NYCHA has 42 seniors-only developments and 14 seniors-only buildings. These developments and buildings are designed with seniors in mind and provide seniors with the services, support, and companionship that they need to lead a fulfilling life.
Some of the programs that NYCAH's developments and buildings offer are:
- Comprehensive Senior Community Wellness Program
- Senior Resident Advisor / Service Coordinator Programs
- Senior Companion Program
- Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities (NORC)
Senior Activities include:
