CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Continuing Studies Center (CSC)
The Continuing Studies Center courses and intensive training programs are available to the general public and provide career enhancing skills for adults in an increasingly competitive job market. Well recognized and reasonably priced offerings range from Computer Office Skills, Medical Office Assistant, PC Support and Work Technologies to Welding and Locksmithing.

In addition, the Center works collaboratively with the College's academic departments to develop courses such as the Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counseling (CASAC) and Ophthalmic Dispensing, to support the professional growth of City Tech alumni. The Center works closely with municipal and state licensing and certifying authorities in areas such as pollution control, fire safety and real estate to provide approved qualifying courses that help insure high standards in public sector service providers. An array of adult learning classes such as Tae Kwon Do, Wine Tasting and Interior Design provide thought provoking, interesting learning experiences for adults for fun, relaxation and personal interest.



Adult Learning Center
The Adult Learning Center offers free literacy and English as a second language (ESL) instruction at all levels. Classes in basic education, math, ESL,and preparation for the GED examination meet during the day, in the evening and on Saturdays. Sessions are also held at off-campus facilities in the community. In addition to classroom instruction, students have the opportunity to learn basic computer skills and utilize computer labs for Internet research, write papers and improve their literacy and language skills. Counseling and support services are provided.


Access for Women
Access for Women welcomes women who are interested in exploring career opportunities in non-traditional technical fields such as construction, building trade and engineering technologies. Access for Women provides classes, workshops, basic skills, math and vocational training for unemployed and under employed women. Counseling and support services are provided to college students enrolled in technical programs and orientation sessions for the technologies are arranged for young women in middle and high schools.
