JPAC's Institute is a comprehensive course that will help you develop the skills you need to maneuver our complicated political system and get results. You will learn the roles of your elected officials and how to work with them, how to write letters to your legislators, how to give testimony on issues of concern, working with the media, public speaking and more. JPAC's Institute for Senior Action (IFSA) offers an exciting and innovative leadership and advocacy training course. The Spring Semester will start March 2007. They have trained senior leaders representing over 400 organizations throughout New York City. All older adults 55+ who are interested in advocacy are invited to attend. There is a nominal charge for the program of $50 with limited scholarships available.

Staff members are available to make presentations to your group, help you to organize a social action or current events committee or assist you in mobilizing community responses to local issues of concern.
