Navigating your way through today's job market can seem a daunting task. But with today's technology and resources available to you, your next dream job may be right at your fingertips! Before you get started, there are a few things you can do to prepare:
- know your goals, interests and expectations.
- consider your talents, skills and experience.
- have an up-to-date resume.
- be patient!
There are many resources available to get you started with your job search. Most employers today use the Internet to advertise and search for workers, so job seekers who know how to get around the Web will have an advantage - now is a good time to sharpen your computer skills!
Many resources are aimed specifically toward the older worker; some of them are listed below. Be sure to be prepared with all your current information - as well as any questions you have - before you get started. And remember, older workers offer maturity, experience, dedication and talent! With a little patience and persistence, you can put those resources to work.
