Education really makes a world of difference. You can pick and choose things you want to learn more about. Learning helps us remain alert and in pace with the world. Without education, we would be living in the dark ages, not in the 21st century. The world is changing very fast.

Some say the education community is replacing the community of work. It helps us feel we are a part of something, still in the race, with our identity intact even when we retire from work. Education offers a great sense of accomplishment in life, especially when it awakens some kind of passion…a passion to live life fully. Education can lead to a world of self discovery. It can stave off isolation and bring you back into the main stream of life. When you get up in the morning you have a place to go with a world of new and different challenges.

There are many educational resources both online and in New York City that older adults can take advantage of. These resources provide training, classes, and tutorials (both online and in person) covering a variety of topics.

Advocacy represents a cause, policy, or a group and argues in favor for that cause. This is done through raising awareness and promoting that issue.
