Rules of Conduct

We value the unique contributions of all SeniorPlanet visitors and do our best to keep the site open and inviting to all users. SeniorPlanet does not endorse behavior that is disrespectful of any individuals or groups.

The focus of SeniorPlanet is for older adults, and their supporters, to work collaboratively online, creating useful content for other older adults. Nonetheless, the web site is open to all who have an interest in the topics on the website.

The material provided on the SeniorPlanet web site, its participants or cooperating organizations is offered with the understanding that neither SeniorPlanet or other contributors are engaged in rendering financial, legal, medical or other professional services on the SeniorPlanet website. If expert assistance is required, the services of a competent professional person should be sought.

You May Not...

• Post any defamatory, abusive, baiting, harassing (including personal attacks and "name calling"), obscene, profane, vulgar, sexually explicit, threatening or illegal material, or any material containing blatant expressions of bigotry, racism or hate.
• Negatively characterize the participants or messages in one page on another.
• Post the content of any personal email sent to you without the author's permission.
• "Spam" by posting the same message on multiple pages that are not related to the topic of the post.
• Collect the email addresses of participants posting in our discussions and "spam" them by sending unsolicited commercial messages.
• Post or transmit any material that violates the rights of others, infringes a person's intellectual property rights (such as copyrights, patents, or trademarks), or is otherwise unlawful or encourages unlawful activity. Posting or transmission of any material that violates any federal, state, or local law or regulation is prohibited.

You may use the SeniorPlanet Online website only for lawful purposes.

SeniorPlanet reserves the right to disclose information regarding your use of the SeniorPlanet website to satisfy laws, regulations or governmental requests.

SeniorPlanet reserves the right in our sole discretion (but is not obligated) to review and delete or refuse to post any material submitted for display or placed on the SeniorPlanet website.

Material placed online by participants does not necessarily reflect the views of SeniorPlanet.

SeniorPlanet's policies are monitored and implemented by SeniorPlanet staff with the support of volunteers who are designated as official SeniorPlanet Hosts or Leaders. All complaints about offensive posts or violations of policies should be made to the SeniorPlanet Web Editor by emailing editor@seniorplanet.org.
