Founded in 1874 as a center for young Jewish men, the 92nd Street Y is now a world-renowned community and cultural center open to all of the city’s residents. The 92nd Street Y’s “60+” program offers a variety of classes and activities for the older set. That includes a health and wellness program featuring ballroom dancing and Pilates as well as support groups and health lectures; a humanities segment with literature courses and current affairs discussions; a wide range of fine arts classes; computer literacy; and even intergenerational programs.
