The How of a Longer Meaningful Life

THE YOUNG ADVENTURER

Granny Haddock, aged 100, died not long ago in New Hampshire.

At age 89 she walked across the country to promote campaign finance

reform and followed up, at age 94, by running for U.S. Senate. (Where

is elder wisdom now that we need it?) She was in the process of

finishing her second book where she offered this advice to readers

"You have to keep the young adventurer inside your heart alive

long enough for it to someday reemerge. It may take some coaxing and

some courage, but that person is in you always, never growing old."
