Alias Man Ray: The Art of Reinvention
Date: 11:00 am, Monday March 8, 2010
Cost: $10 Seniors
The Jewish Museum invites you to this unique exhibition - with a special bonuses for attending on a Monday! The New York Times calls this exhibition ..."a traditional retrospective with an irresistible biographical hook, one that is both old-fashioned (dust off your Freud) and up to the minute (identity is fluid)."
The quintessential modernist, Man Ray recast the concept of artistic identity, working as a painter, photographer, sculptor, printmaker, filmmaker, poet, and essayist. He perpetually tinkered with material at hand, putting to ingenious use the practical skills learned in a variety of jobs, from advertising to mapmaking to engraving.
The Museum is FREE on Saturdays, but not all services are available.
