JUPITER SHOWERS SUNSHINE - MONDAY - 17 MAY - Sunrise to Sunset

JUPITER is a big planet!  It encourages living large!  Make that very large!

But hold on - even too much of Jupiter is still too much!

Jupiter is the ruling planet of Sagittarius [born between November 20 and December 20]  - Jupiter rules the higher mind, the higher consciousness, religion and all matters 'foreign'.

Jupiter urges expansion, risk-taking and optimism - even if unbridled.

Jupiter's iconic symbol is the archer - readying that bow and taking a 'shot'!

Jupiter is so generous - its bestows Sagittarians with seemingly never-ending luck.

Ed Koch is a Sagittarian; so too, the late Frank Sinatra.

On the 'morrow at 5:57AM [ES.T.] transiting Venus in Gemini will square transiting Jupiter in Pisces.

All 'n all that's still a relatively benign influence - especially impacting those born in or around 17-20 December, March, June and September [any year, of course!].

It's the first major aspect of this new week and it sets a tone [actually for the entire week]:  self-indulgence vs. discipline, big vs. small, right vs. wrong.  It begets a certain degree of absolutism in behavior.

Some will feel as if someone is raining on their parade; others will have a sense of having their wings clipped.

Better to rein in any excess impulse now whilst you are in control.

At 7:42PM [E.S.T.] however the Sun will sextile Jupiter - and is that ever a delicious combination.

Especially terrific for Leos [born 20 July through 20 August] and Sagittarians, it envelops the Monday night sky in a bouquet of blissful serenity.

Gather ye cosmic cupcakes whilst the icing is so spectacular.  Guilt-free, no calories - this one is on The House!

From sunrise to sunset Monday is a treasure-chest of cosmic Jupiterian cornucoppia - given rise to your inner Pirate and discover what's buried deep inside yourself, your immediate environs, your world.

The How of a Longer Meaningful Life

THE YOUNG ADVENTURER

Granny Haddock, aged 100, died not long ago in New Hampshire.

At age 89 she walked across the country to promote campaign finance

reform and followed up, at age 94, by running for U.S. Senate. (Where

is elder wisdom now that we need it?) She was in the process of

finishing her second book where she offered this advice to readers

"You have to keep the young adventurer inside your heart alive

long enough for it to someday reemerge. It may take some coaxing and

some courage, but that person is in you always, never growing old."

MOON ON THE MOVE: AIDS WALK NEW YORK - GO TEAM OATS!

GO TEAM OATS!  Walk For A Cure!  Live For A Cure!

The Cosmic Skies will shine busily for the 'morrow's AIDS WALK:  the Moon will conjunct Venus in Gemini at 5:17AM [E.S.T.]; the Moon will then square Jupiter in Pisces at 7:08AM [E.S.T.]; the Moon thereafter will square Saturn in Virgo at 9:20AM [E.S.T.]; the Moon then trines Neptune in Aquarius at 10:26AM [E.S.T.]; and finally at 12:07PM [E.S.T.] the Moon will square Uranus before it goes void-of-course!

As above - so below.  The cosmic skies reflect the enormity of the challenge:  the Venusian love, expanded by Jupiter's optimistic largesse, tested urgently by Saturn in the guise of Father Time, awash with Neptunian innovation, and resolved by the innate tension between the past and need to regenerate in the present as the modern forward-looking planet Uranus commands.

Give the Moon a rest - for fourty minutes!

At 12:47PM [E.S.T.] the Moon will enter Cancer [born June 20 through July 20].

The sensitivity, warmth and kindness of spirit associated with the Moon's most natural home will engender a massive out-pouring of love, hope and strength in support of the mission of AIDS WALK NEW YORK - rejoicing in Life while re-doubling a collective commitment that a Cure must be found - so that not one more person - anywhere on Earth - will die from AIDS and/or AIDS-related infirmity - is realized with due deliberate speed!

AIDS WALK NEW YORK IS ON!

GO TEAM OATS!

THE COLDEST WAR KOREA 1953

I WALK THROUGH THE SNOW AND IT BLOWS INTO MY FACE. THE WIND IS HARD LIKE SAND--PAINFUL -I GRIN AND BEAR IT-UNHAPPY AND FEARFUL. MY HELMET IS STRAPPED UNDER MY CHIN. WHEN THE SHELLS ROAR IN I DON'T WANT THE TIN POT TO FALL OF MY HEAD AS I HIT THE GROUND--HARD AND FAST. I DON'T FEEL THE COLD THIS WINTER OF 1953-INSTEAD I SWEAT--THAT'S WHAT FEAR DOES TO ME --BETTER THAN A FIRE. I AM 18 YEARS OLD AND THE MAN SAYS TO ME "WHAT GOT YOU INTO THIS MESS?"  I ANSWER "MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS PRIVATE JOHNSON-YOUR HERE WITH ME" PRIVATE JOHNSON TRIES TO GIVE ME BACK A SNAPPY ANSWER--BUT JUST THAN A BARRAGE OF MOTARS LANDS AMONGST OUR SQUARD --PRIVATE JOHNSON RECEIVES A DIRECT HIT AND IS NO MORE.  NOW THERE ARE ONLY FOUR OF US LEFT OUT OF FIFTEEN THAT WE WERE FOUR DAYS AGO.--WE ARE THE THIRD SQUARD --OR WHATS LEFT OF THE THIRD SQUAD-- FOX COMPANY FIFTH MARINES -FIRST MARINE DIVISION.THE CHINESE ARMY HAS HAD IT'S WAY WITH US AND WE WAIT FOR OUR TURN TO DIE. NOT LIKE IN THE MOVIES- WHERE WE HAVE JOHN WAYNE- WHO WILL LEAD US TO VICTORY OVER THE ENEMY. THIS IS THE CHINESE PEOPLES ARMY WHO KNOW MORE ABOUT WAR THEN WE DO . I AM THE CORPORAL OF THIS FIRE TEAM OF FOUR MARINES.
THE MOTARES HAVE BURIED US UNDER MOUNDS OF DIRT AND ROCK AND KOREAN SOIL  I CAN'T BELIVE THAT I AM STILL ALIVE .IT'S BEEN FOUR DAYS OF THIS BATTLE [THE NAVADA CITIES BATTLE] FOR THREE COMBAT OUTPOSTS- ON HILLS OUR DIVISION HAS NAMED- RENO,VEGAS,AND CARSON. WE ARE COMBAT EXPERIENCED NOW AND STAY DOWN UNTILL THE SHELLING STOPS. WE AWAIT ANOTHER PEOPLES ARMY ATTACK. IT DOES NOT COME THIS TIME.
PFC O'BRIEN IS SHOUTING WHILE TRYING TO PULL HIS RIFLE OUT OF AN ENORMOUS PILE OF EARTH THAT FELL ON HIM. :"'DON'T BE SO UPSET'" I SAY " THATS LIFE"!   "NO IT'S NOT LIFE" HE SAYS "OR IT SHOULD NOT BE." "IT IS" I INSIST "THAT'S WHATS IT IS .AND LIFE LIKE DEATH LASTS ONLY A LITTLE WHILE"! AND SO IT GOES FOR US FOUR MARINES -NOT SO TOUGH ANYMORE  AFTER THE POUNDING  WE HAVE BEEN TAKING THE PAST FOUR DAYS..
" LISTEN I'VE GOT THE SICKEST NOTION- DEEP IN THE MIRROR I AM SCARED-DON'T KNOW WHO THE HELL IS THERE. YEAH--I'M LOSING MY REFLECTION."-- PFC O'BRIEN LOOKS  AT ME AND THINKS I MUST BE GOING CRAZY . WELL WHY NOT--BEST THING I COULD DO FOR MYSELF. GET SENT BACK TO THE REAR .MAKE WAY -HERE COMES THE BRAVE CORPORAL KENNEDY -READY FOR THE SICK BED AND NICE NURSES TO FEED MY SAD FACE. BUT I DON'T HAVE THE SMARTS FOR THAT. I'D BE FOUND OUT AND SENT TO THE BRIG. BESIDES THERE GUYS ARE ALWAYS LOOKING AT ME TO SEE WHICH WAY THE WIND BLOWS-.I WANT TO SHOUT " WE ALL DIE TOGETHER IN THE AWFUL HILLS OF KOREA."SO LETS SADDLE UP AND GET ON WITH THIS WAR. IT'S GOT TO BE OVER SOMETIME.  SO WE FIGHT ON AND TWO MORE GO DOWN- WOUNDED NOT DEAD.JULY OF 1953 THE FIGHTING STOPS AND PFC O'BRIEN IS PROMOTED TO CORPORAL .I TURN DOWN A PROMATION TO SERGEANT .WHEM MY TURN COMES I BOARD THE SHIP FOR THE THREE WEEK SAIL HOME TO THE USA.
A FEW YEARS LATER I LEARN TO SING;"I'M GONNA LAY DOWN MY SWARD AND SHIELD -AIN'T GONNA STUDY WAR NO MORE --AIN'T GONNA STUDY WAR NO MORE!"

tempest fugits (time flies)

I can hardly believe we have made it just about halfway through the month, and my blogs are getting fewer and farther between! I was going to write more about my Facebook Games, and about my cat, and maybe some health issues. I had mulled them over in my mind, and think they got mowed over...can't get them to come together lately. My thoughts...that is...getting it into some semblence of order is the great challenge! (I don't really know how to spell "semblence" but you get the picture.)

I will tell you right now...if you get into the Facebook games, you might want to hire a housekeeper! I have really gotten too much time invested into these three games. Farmville, Country Life and Treasure Island (the forth is a ghost game Social City that I don't participate) and will have to start cutting back as soon as I finish one of the co-op phases on Farmville. I am helping another friend grow fake pumpkins so they can make and sell fake pies. I will get a bonus of fake coins if I complete the job. If I quit, I won't really have to go bankrupt, but I am almost finished so I'm sticking this one out. They put a time limit on the co-op job.  I am not the competetive type, but I like to be helpful, and if it gets my friend further down the "fake" road, then it's all good to me!!!! At least it's a better escape than drugs! People will do anything to get a better life, me included!

As far as my cat goes...she is somewhat neglected attention-wise, but not too much. She sleeps a lot. And if she is hungry, she won't shut up until she is fed. She also jumps on the table or countertops to get my attention. She is a short hair orange cat who is 11 years old and was born on the same day as my grandson. It actually helps me to remember both of their birthdays. We love to have her around, and she sleeps on my lap a lot. My grandson does not live with me, so I see him less often.

In the health department, I feel that I have early stage Alzheimer's because I have many of the symptoms. I was going to send a link to Johns Hopkins information about it, but I kept forgetting to put the link where I could get to it easily. I imagine you could Google it by putting "Alzheimer's" in the search bar, and click on the John's Hopkin's website. I do a lot of searches, when I think of it.

Have you been watching the news about all the terrible weather and damage, as well as the oil that keeps on spilling into the ocean? That takes my breath away and breaks my concentration.

It's Here - The Day After That New Moon The Night Before!

Today is the most stellar day this Month of May that you may perchance make a wish, make a dream come true, perchance if you wish!

If you don't you still are looking at a fortnight of cosmic blue skies.

A terrific time to get your groove back on, get ready to jump in the pool, and take a big ole deep breath for things to come!

Tthe Moon entered Gemini at 8:19AM{E.S.T.].  So for everyone born in or around May 20 through June 20 - today 'til mid-day Sunday [16 May] presents your peak moments of the month.

For Aquarians [born 20 January through 20 February] it's a great weekend for love, romance and creativity - not to mention self-expression through movement.  For Librans [born 20 September through 20 October] it's a grand weekend to travel - even whilst sitting still - or even to get on up - that plane, train and/or re-connect with the stranger in yourself and/or foreigners travelling in a strange land.

Any shade of lavender, butter blue or light velvet lilac will positively stimulate your mood and attract others of kindred spirit.

Cleaning Out

I have been going through old papers trying to throw away the hopelessly out-dated material in my files.  Some of what I am finding is not at all out-dated though, and impossible to throw out.  Like this poem:

Become the Rain

Become the rain, my friend / Don't just let it happen outside your mind

Become the Heart of things

Use your mind for paying the rent/ And getting from A to Z on time

But let your Heart tell your mind / When it is time to let go

And how to make Peace / And how to make grim men laugh

And how to bring a flower back to life.

Become the rain

And how it dances with the wind

Become the silence between the drops / The light between the dark

There you will find the forgotten you

Waiting.

THERE'S A NEW MOON ON THE RISE!

NEW MOON!  Thursday - 8:43PM[E.S.T.] - what a difference a day will make!

In just about 24 little hours the Sun and Moon will form a conjunction in Taurus - ruled by Venus!

How thrilling - move over the cod liver pills, let the laundry wait, you've got a date with Destiny!

Ironically, it's the very next day after a New Moon that's the most appropriate time to make a Wish!

Needless to say during the last 3-4 weeks so many other matters have toppled your 'To-Do' List that you might just feel just about done!  But fear not!

That's the power of a NEW MOON - a New You!

The fortnight immediately following a New Moon is green-lit with all manner of promise, possibility, potential.  It's there for the taking - by who else:  You, of course.

Given that this NEW MOON [both the Sun and the Moon are in Taurus] occurs in an Earth Sign - the practical and the sensuous, as well, are both very favorably featured.

If your very own Wish can merge elements of each of those variables you will indeed be granted a very Splendid Spring 2010!

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE??

I'm dedicating this blog to my friend Karola.  Karola is an English citizen who, due to the cold weather in England, prefers to be in Florida.  Some years ago, her son, a wealthy businessman in England, bought her a villa where I live.  She would come here and stay for most of the year, leaving for England several times a year to see her children and grandchildren and to satisfy the requirements of her visa.  Now this is where it gets stupid.  She does not get Soc. Security in this country.  She gets a pension in England.  She does not use Medicare because she has health insurance from England.  She pays property tax, car insurance, homeowners insurance, electric and telephone bills and homeowners maintenance  in this country (not to mention all the shopping she does). She doesn't work, so she's not taking a job from a US citizen.  She brings money into the country and takes nothing from us.  She has to renew her license every 6 months.   However, our State Dept. has decided she may not stay in this country for more than 6 months at a time.  Her family decided that to pay for her house 12 mos. a year and she can only use it for 6 months  has become a financial burden (since she now needs an apartment in England too) and so, they've put her house on the market.    We have hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants who come here and collect welfare, medical benefits and food stamps.  I know some are fleeing terrible conditions, but some are biting the hand that feeds (and educates) them.    So, I say again, what's wrong with this picture.
