Creating Blogs
What is a blog?
A blog is short for “web log” and essentially is an online journal. The author of a blog (known as a “blogger”) creates posts or entries on a regular basis (this is the act of “blogging”). Some blogs have a theme or area of interest (such as food, NYC politics, or entertainment) but feel free to write about whatever is on your mind! If you don’t know what to write about take a look at some of the other senior blogs on SeniorPlanet to get inspiration.
Creating a Blog Post
- Once you have logged into your SeniorPlanet account click on “New Blog Post” on the navigation bar on the left side of the screen.
- Choose a title for your blog post (required).
- In the Body section type your blog post. If you don’t know what to write about look at some of the other senior blogs to get inspiration.
- Once you have completed your post click “Save” at the bottom of the page.
Commenting on Blogs
What is a Comment?
A comment is a way for members of the SeniorPlanet community to interact with each other, sharing ideas, stories, and experiences. Commenting on a blog post makes the blog social and interactive and allows you to join in on the conversation.
Commenting on Blogs
- To comment on a blog post click on “Add New Comment” at the end of the blog post.
- Enter a subject if desired.
- Write your comment in the comment box (please read the [Privacy Policy] to learn what is appropriate language and content).
- Click “Save” after you’ve typed your comment.
Check back to see if the author of the blog or anyone else has left additional comments. You can comment again if you would like to keep the conversation going!
