SAGE WALKS - City Hall & African Burial Ground

This classic New York City tour will take you through the restored working offices, public rooms, and galleries of City Hall. The building, completed in 1812, includes a winding cantilevered staircase, opulent columns, a dome recalling the Pantheon, and the Governor's Room with its famed portrait gallery. The tour continues with a five minute walk to the African Burial Ground National Monument, which honors the thousands of free and enslaved Africans buried at the site in the 17th and 18th centuries. Meet Ted Mignone outside the west gate of City Hall (Bway & Murray St). Registration is required and begins April 3rd.
