Americans, especially baby boomers, are taking a second look at ageism and at mortality, and it’s changing them and American culture forever—and for the better. The old attitudes? Americans have been obsessed with denying their aging—unlike people from many other cultures. For decades Americans have done whatever it takes to ignore, repress, deny and hide from aging, to force this inevitable reality from their consciousness. At last, aging and mortality are coming “out of the closet.” At this discussion with author I. Michael Grossman, participants will talk about how facing the fear of aging can change both the individual and American culture. Adults will learn how to lower their anxiety about being mortal--and why they should. For more information about this event, click here.
