Choosing life

I have recently read the book “Left to tell” by Immaculee Llibagiza... It is the story of miraculous survival during the Rwanda genocide. For some reason I can’t remember reading much details about the atrocities that was taking place in 1994... As I read this book I came to the conclusion that though people and government say something they don’t always follow through with it. Hitler committed similar atrocities during WW II. Many countries and governments said this would never happen again but it seems like they stood aside and allowed it to happen again. It was the cry of mere citizens that shamed some countries to begin to do something. The news world failed to do there job; that is to inform there citizen. How very terrible that we say that we are a civilized world but we turn our faces away when certain things are being done to a people because of race, belief or economics. I recommend this book it is a good read. A view about strength and faith in the face of adversity.
